CAN CHICAGO REMAIN FLAWLESS?

(CHICAGO, ILLINOIS- THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2015)

All season long, the word dynasty surfaced around the Chicago Bliss. It lingered in the air and taunted the players through all of their tough practices and struggles through the season. While the games may have seemed easy at times, the in-between stuff was anything but that. Whether it was the beginning of the season and not having enough practice time/available practice facilities or the struggle of a month off between games, Chicago faced some difficult non-gameplay related challenges. To top it all off, they have been surrounded by producers, video cameras, and a lot of buzz as they were the team chosen to launch the first NBC Universal produced reality show for the Legends Football League- Pretty. Strong.

But when the games finally arrived, they took care of business. They dominated Omaha three times this season (and dominated is being nice). Now there is one more game to win if the Bliss want a ticket to Seattle for a chance at hoisting the Legends Cup for the third consecutive time and truly becoming the dynasty most fans believe they are. That trip to Seattle will be determined by their performance in one game, against one team – the Eastern Conference Championship against the Atlanta Steam.

Even though Chicago won both games against Atlanta this year, including a historic Sunday game on Mother’s Day at home, they haven’t seen this Atlanta team since May.

Heather “Rockstar” Furr has said that she is “excited to get back to playing”. Furr went on to say “Omaha was a warm up. We will be ready for the conference finals at home against Atlanta.”

With more than a month off since their last game, Chicago took care of business last Saturday in Omaha. While the perfect season is nice, it remains to be seen whether or not that will be enough of a game to get the Bliss back into playing shape for the battle about to take place. The Atlanta Steam have had this game circled on their calendar all season long. The two earlier games mean nothing to either team. This is the game that will decide who gets a chance to play for the Legends Cup.

Will the Atlanta Steam finally overcome the reigning champion Bliss? Or will Heather “Rockstar” Furr and ChrisDell “Ferrari” Harris lead their Bliss to a third straight finals appearance?
